School of Religion

Mission Statement
We foster a catechesis that has the paramount task of transmitting the knowledge of the faith and preparing our youth as witnesses of Christ in society.

Grade 1 through High School classes are conducted at Bellarmine Preparatory School on Monday evenings 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Classes follow the regular schedule of Tacoma schools.

Our program includes celebrating Mass at St. Rita's Church on the third Sunday of each month at 10:00 a.m. together with our families and teachers. Scheduled grades participate in the liturgy throughout the school year.

Our program also includes a community service. The children prepare cupcakes for Nativity House once each month during the school year.

Father Eugene Delmore, S.J. is a very visible figure in our school of religion. Father conducts high school classes, visits all grade levels throughout the year, and is present with the parents' club.

Teachers attend classes conducted by the Seattle Archdiocese to maintain their Catechetical Certification requirements.

Parents meet on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. during class time.
Parents may participate throughout the year as a room parent, or helping with one of the special activities in the school year.

A newsletter is published each month giving lesson information as well as other helpful resources.
