Parish Merger Update

We are currently part of the Strategic Planning process in the Pierce Deanery of the Archdiocese of Seattle. As part of the vision for the deanery, we will be merging with other local parishes to form one new Catholic parish community in Tacoma. You can read more about it at the Seattle Archdiocese Pierce Deanery Strategic Planning News page
While we are working on our transition,
there will be no regularly scheduled ministries at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church except for 12 pm Mass on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

Father David Mulholland remains our current Pastor and he is available for pastoral emergencies. For information on pastoral care, anointing of the sick, and funeral scheduling, please call 253-383-2783 or email

In the fall of 2020, the Archdiocese of Seattle announced a new strategic plan for the Pierce County Deanery, that affects our parish grouping of St. Patrick, Holy Cross, and St. Rita of Cascia Parishes. Most notably for us, it involves St. Rita of Cascia Parish. The following are links to more information and resources (with the oldest at the top to the most recent at the bottom):
