St. Frances Sodality

The Sodality of St. Frances of Rome is a church-approved apostolic society that nurtures the holiness of its members and promotes works of charity. This women's group gathers as a body on the 4th Sunday of the month to attend Mass. The group holds a monthly business meeting after the 4th Tuesday noon Mass and undertakes various missions. These are supported by sales and fundraisers.

Mission Statement
The St. Frances of Rome Sodality is an organization of Catholic men and women of all ages at St. Rita of Cascia Parish. We meet monthly from September to May. Our goal is to support each other spiritually and socially, under the direction of our pastor. We foster a Christian community through prayer, charitable works, and supporting Catholic education through scholarships.

Our Community Activities

  • Serving the needs with a dinner, bi-annually, at Peace Lutheran Community Center.
  • Supplying fruit and cookies to the workers of Habitat for Humanity once a year.
  • Adopting a needy family at Christmas.
  • Scholarships to Bellarmine Preparatory High School, a Jesuit School.
  • Donations include the Stanley school uniform fund, baking supplies for the cupcakes baked monthly for Nativity House, Seminarian Aid, and Sr. Baptista for an African Mission.

Charitable Activities
We send sympathy and get-well cards to parishioners.
We deliver tulips on Valentine's Day to parishioners who are homebound or in nursing homes.
We exchange letters with St. Catherine's Mission in Alaska, a Jesuit mission.
