St. Theresa's Altar Society

Mission Statement
Our mission is to assure that God's house is always clean and that it glorifies God because of it. All of the work is performed as a gift to God. Our reward and joy is being able to do this work in God's house with him.

We are a group of thirty parishioners who volunteer to clean the church sanctuary and sacristy every other week of the liturgical year.

Working in nine faithful teams we are under the direction of Father Gene Delmore, S.J.

Seasonal schedules are prepared to accommodate the teams and allow them to plan for their time to clean. There are no formal meetings. Our meetings happen as we come together.

Cleaning takes place every other weekend. Maintaining the church's cleanliness ensures that it is a beautiful and dignified place for celebrating Mass. We hope all who come to St. Rita's feel welcomed and comfortable and inspired with a sense of joy and devotion.

There is a special annual cleaning to prepare for the Easter season.
All the teams gather for this event.

"Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show my love? Great deeds are forbidden me. The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love."
